Warning: Don’t read the below if you don’t believe that dreams do really come true!
My latest dream was in a alf layla wa layla style (One thousand and one nights). It was the early days of September and I was preparing for fashion month traveling around Europe, but my heart was somewhere else, it was in Marrakech. One day whilst I woke up, still in bed, processing the last night dreams and scrolling on Instagram (that’s how I wake up) I noticed a picture that made my heart miss a beat.
It was romantic and mysterious, warm and passionate, it was full of life and pure luxury, Hotel La Mamounia, Marrakech.
I wanted to go there. No, No … I needed to go there… I saw myself there and I really, really, really (!) had to find a way to get there!
Fast forward – to few days later.
I’m getting my makeup done for a photoshoot session and my phone rings.
“So Korin, how spontaneous are you?”
“Mmmm do you mean how open, natural, and an uninhibited person I am? The answer is Very!”
“Great” she said “Clinique picked you! So go pack your suitcase we are going to Marrakech for the glam event of the season!”
2 days later I was on the plane celebrating ‘Dreams by Clinique’ with fine wine and a huge smile that I simply couldn’t get off my face, even more so when I discovered that my home for the next 3 days was (omg!!!) Hotel La Mamounia.
We landed in Marrakech, and it felt like going back in time. I sat next to the driver and asked him to play some Morrocan music on the radio. I opened the window and absorbed everything in at once, the colors, the sence, the light, the music and the oriental magic. My heart smiled.
I arrived in my unbelievable room with a view of the Koutoubia Mosque, the most beautiful garden you can imagine and countless amount of palm trees. On the table I found a bowl with nectarines, a whole set of makeup and beauty products next to a personal welcome letter by Clinique color pro, Matin Maulawizada (who I discovered was one of the most special, sweet and full of life person I had ever met).
I played Habibi Ya Einy on youtube, sipped the ice cold rosé I ordered and danced in the room while I was thanking the universe for being the luckiest gal ever!
I applied the new black kajal by clinique (my new addiction!) and made smokey playful eyes, chose a black long skirt and jeweled top and made my way to the welcome cocktail party in the Riad of the hotel where everything was perfectly styled with rose petals, candles, fruity alcoholic drinks named by the new Clinique pop matte lipsticks, and a band that played oriental local music. If that wasn’t enough, we also got to choose a unique designed kaftan by Norya Ayron. I was immediately attracted to a beautiful, colorful and incredibly soft skirt that I wore later that night to our fabulous dinner at the Comptoir Darna.
I started the next day with bubble bath that smelled like vanilla and sweet dates, royal breakfast next to the pool and then a tour at the Marrakech Souk.
You can find here everything! Perfumes, spices, bags, clothes, baskets, shawls, carpets and shoes, local people seating around having coffee talking in Moroccan and French, bakeries and cuisines, beautiful buildings and architecture from almost every century.
EYES – In that look the eyes are meant to be bold, dark, and dramatic. To begin, draw the eyeliner freely to line and define eyes. Then take the liner to the lids and begin to line the liner on in one direction and then blend with your fingertips or a sponge applicator. Blend up to the crease so that it goes from dark to light and almost invisible once you hit the brow.
TIP: For a daytime soft smudgy look you would do 5 lines above the lashes, and for a more intense look a minimum of 10 lines.
When looking at eye shapes it all depends on if you want to change the shape of your eye or if you want to dramatize it. For example, if you an almond shape eye you would follow your eye shape to add drama, but if your eyes are more round you would bring the line in the corner outwards giving the illusion of a cat eye.
Finally apply mascara by wiggling the brush at the base of the lashes for fullness and then flick the brush through the lashes.

LIP – Keep the lip natural and nude with this intense eye, use Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer in Blushing Pop.
CHEEK – Lightly apply a creamy blush to give a slightly flush of color to the apples of the cheekbones, use Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Robust Rhubarb.
After the makeup sessions we had a special dinner party at The Ksar Char – Bagh that looked like a scene from Sex and the city 2 movie. It was a magical night with camels, delicious food, champagne, live music, fire juggling and belly dancers that carried on their head trays with jars full of the ‘Pop Matte Lipsticks‘ new collection in every color you can imagine, for us to choose.
I spent the next morning by the hotel pool, reprocessing with some of my new friends our unique memories from charming Marrakech, enjoying the sun and drinking our last rosé, before we heading to the airport.
I know that part of my heart will stay here and I swear to come back, I said to myself and had the last toast for: Matte dreams by Clinique.
