fter a few hours sleep (I work hard, but party harder and spent the night at the Armani club) I woke up early to my resee at the Gucci showroom to check out what the new creative director of Gucci, Alessandro Michele, wants us to wear for the next cold season to come.
When I entered the room one word came to my mind: Nostalgia. The beautiful pieces that were hanging in the showroom looked like an antique treasure that has been found by Alessandro and garnished by him with a contemporary touch.
I saw: androgynous suits with unfinished hems, feminine lace blouses, leather midi skirts, wallpaper and floral prints, statement hairy and pom-pom tie shoes, the original separated GG belt, floral hair bands, berets (Salma Hayek wore a blue one to the show, from the men’s collection). One bag model with a chain or a strap painted with flowers or jeweled with insect or tiger head and a big jewellery collection that Alessandro loves to make a statement with wearing lots of pieces together.
I loved: I won’t lie if I’ll say that I wanted to collect the entire showroom but my favorite piece was a maxi black dress with a deep V cleavage and embroidered bird.
Backstaging: Models at Etro were given amazing print gowns backstage and face massages by the MAC team before starting make-up (lucky!).
Seats: Each guest sat on designer cushions (one more to my collection!)
Show: La Boheme vibes and a gypsy chic with a mix of paisley, brocade, rich embroideries, patchwork and jacquard, I loved this collection!
