Last night I was invited to attend the opening Gala event of the Tel Aviv Gindi Fashion Week which I had been looking forward to for some time. The guest of honor was the Italian fashion house Missoni and they showed their Summer 2014 collection.
Together with the Missoni family we welcomed another special guest from Italy, Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia.
I met Franca two weeks ago at the Gucci show at Milan Fashion Week having previously sat next to her a year earlier at the Missoni show during the 2013 Milan Fashion Week. I was even more excited to meet her for the third time here at my home town during this event and asked her if she would honor me with a #couplie (the same as a selfie, except it’s got two people in it). If you follow me on Instagram you’ll already know that she said yes and that I was lucky my ears prevented my smile from splitting my face in two.
I arrived to the the Gindi fashion week wearing a very special dress by Anaelle Levi made up of hundreds of necklaces and I matched it with short hair and glamorous makeup by Mati Boker. I was so happy to meet some of my fashion friends who I hadn’t seen for a while and when I ran into my lovely dear friends from Dreed*Tea magazine we had a great time sharing Michell’s ‘Fabulous’ necklace!
The massive crowd that included models, celebrities, business men and fashion people, foreign journalists and international fashion buyers, enjoyed this rare high end fashion event which was followed by champagne and appetizers and the Missoni show which was all about the typical zig-zag design elements with a light splash of turquoise, orange, black, white and seagulls.
I have waited patiently during the course of this last few months to once again celebrate the fashion here in Israel, ever more excitedly since I came back from Milan, and really hope that this fashion week will contribute to the local fashion industry. And now we begin! But what the hell am I going to wear?!
