Designing my wedding was a great pleasure!
For the outside area I chose a ’Mexican Fiesta’ theme with a hot and baby pink, turquoise, yellow and cream palette and for the inside the theme was an eclectic ball.
As I thought center pieces would be a waste of time and money because pretty as they can look, people never remember what was on the middle of a table, I decided to go with different presents on each guest’s plate.
We divided the place in to two main areas. The left side was the ‘Young people’ area which was formed from rows of super long banqueting tables and the right side was the ‘family & family friends’ area, which was a combination of round and square tables.
The left side’s design was all about fun! Each guest received a ‘Fortune cookie’ with a personal message: “The best way to predict the future is to create it – Yalla Balagan!” On the tables you could find globes, books and flowers and each glass had a metallic tassel straw and a small personal card with the words: “With love from the new Mr. and Mrs. Cohen”,
On the right side I placed mirrors with a card attached saying: “You are beautiful” on some tables, On others I placed jars filled with mint candies and a card which said: “Mint to be”, and on yet other tables you could find a retro style car with a “Just married” sign and a pearl necklace and crown on each of the plates.
For our table I picked a gorgeous sequin table cloth, a pink retro style car, and I hung our initials on the back of our chairs.
As I’m a massive fan of ribbons I tied them everywhere! On the Champagne glasses on the ‘Chupa’ chairs, on the chandeliers and everywhere else I could.
Would love to know your thoughts…
